Makeup and beauty products are probably my favourite things that exist on this Earth (besides my dog) and they provide me a lot of comfort when I’m not feeling so great about myself, because applying a full face is one of the few skills that I really enjoy putting to use. When I look at my makeup bag, I see so many products, some that I only bought last week and others that I’ve been using for years. Now I’m going to address the ones that I’ve used for years. My holy grail products, the one’s I always must repurchase when they become empty.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara: I first bought this mascara when I watched a Zoella video about two years ago where she recommended it and her lashes looked amazing. I’ve only recently started branching out and trying others because this one remains my firm favourite. Unlike other mascaras that I’ve tried, this one doesn’t flake off my eyelashes and make a mess, once it’s on, its on. Plus, its only about £8 on average do you really cant complain for that price.
Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner: I’ve bought this a few times now and I just love having it in my makeup bag because its super easy to use for a winged eyeliner and it doesn’t flake off or apply patchy like some other eyeliner pens that I’ve used. It’s also super cheap as well! So, I do recommend it if you need a cheap long-lasting eyeliner pen because I’ve honestly got no complaints about it.
Makeup Revolution X Soph Extra Spice Palette: I got this eyeshadow palette around Christmas time and since then I’ve hit pan on three of the shades so I definitely will be buying a new one soon. I think this palette might be one of my favourites that Makeup Revolution have released, and I’ve raved about it on my blog before because I genuinely really enjoy it. The shadows are really good quality and for only £10 it’s a bargain.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel: I’ve used a lot of brow gels in my time because my eyebrows are quite thick, and I don’t like to pluck or trim them because I really enjoy the hair that I’ve got. The ABH clear brow gel is my favourite brow gel for keeping my brows in place all day and is much longer lasting than any other brow gel that I’ve used before. The only downside to this product is the pretty hefty price tag BUT considering I don’t use loads it definitely lasts quite a while, so I don’t mind paying for it every 3 months or so.
Sleek “Matte Me” Liquid Lipsticks: Although these are a tad drying if you don’t take care of your lips, these are one of my favourite drugstore brand liquid lipsticks. They’re only £4.99 each, and I honestly use them more than any other liquid lipstick I own. They’re super long lasting and aren’t patchy when you apply one layer. My favourite is their pinky nude shade called “Birthday Suit” and on a bolder lip day I use their bright red shade called “Rioja Red” which is also stunning.
Tiggy Lashes: These definitely haven’t been in my makeup bag for years because I only tried them for the first time about 5 weeks ago. However, I think they’ve become my favourite lash brand that I’ve used so far. The style “aries” are the ones I buy because I LOVE big fluffy lashes! I know they aren’t for everyone, but I love doing eye makeup, so a big lash is necessary to finish it off! These lashes are also reusable up to twenty times, so they’re perfect for people who only wear lashes on nights out or special occasions because they will last you for AGES.
Real Techniques Beauty Sponge: When the hype around beauty sponges began, I was too anxious to try them because I LOVED how well my foundation applied with a brush. I. Was. Wrong. The real techniques sponge was the first one I tried, and since then I have tried a few more, but NOTHING compares to the Real Techniques sponge and its super affordable. You can pick up a 2 pack for less than £10 and they honestly make my face products apply so flawlessly, I feel facetuned.
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads: My mum bought me some of these as a part of my stocking filler at Christmas time and I was SO HAPPY. You get 60 little pads in one pack and I use mine every night after I’ve removed my makeup and washed/cleansed my face. They make such a difference to my skin by getting rid of dry patches and improving the overall appearance of my skin. I really notice a difference if I don’t use them for a while, so they’ve become a must have in my night-time routine.
What are your favourite products? I always love trying new things, so feel free to suggest any of your holy grail favourites!
All the love and hugs, from Kara xoxo.
